I have been recently running workshops with Damian Thompson in various cities in Australia and we have developed some excellent material to share with you. As i will be leaving town shortly we are presenting a condensed series of workshop length classes designed to build upon fundamental elements you already know to take your dance to the next level. If you are an intermediate dancer with 1-2 years experience or a more advanced dancer and want to develop your understanding of options for improvisation then this is for you.
Welcome to 2011! It promises to be an exciting year of tango. I am already cooking up some treats for later in the year. First things first...
For 3 weeks only I will be running the popular Womens Technique classes. If you are looking to improve your dancing with a better understanding of posture movement and musicality then this is the course for you. We will explore dynamics of walking and spiral movements in relation to the ocho and giro including many useful exercises to practice at home. Suitable for all levels.
Classes run TUESDAYS JAN 25-FEB 8
From MARCH 4-6 i will be returning to the lovely Port Macquarie Tango community to give workshops with Damian Thompson and lend support to the burgeoning tango scene there. Regular milongas have started fortnightly I believe with a special flood relief Milonga planned for FEB 5. If you are in the area and would like more info email contact Wendy tango.wendy@gmail.com
I will be making my first tango trip to Darwin from MARCH 10-21 and am excited to visit this city for the first time ever!
Stay tuned for more info on workshops with ANIBAL MONTENEGRO coming up around May and June before we head off to teach at the NZ Tango Festival. This may be Anibal's last visit to Australia for a while so put some time aside to pick up some pointers from this approachable and popular teacher.
