Wrapping up

Thanks to everyone who participated in the workshops with Anibal and made it such an enjoyable experience. We have alot of ideas and techniques to work with so now is the time to practice practice practice. Also thank you to the organisations and schools who supported Anibals visit and welcomed us to perform at their Milongas....Tango Entre Amigos, Tango Spirit, Patio de Tango, Tango Encanto, DanceTango and Tango Synergy. I'm looking forward to next year!! I'm also delighted to be working with Anibal in Melbourne so if you are a southerner I'll see you there.

If you happen to be outside Sydney you can catch Anibal in

Adelaide: 20 - 25th May
Brisbane / Byron Bay: 26th May -10th June
Melbourne: 11 - 16th June

The feedback I've received from the workshops is really fantastic and positive. A few Snippets...

As well as his infectious smile and warmth, Anibal is a fantastic teacher and I learnt so much from him in one short week. He makes seemingly challenging options simple by breaking them down to basics, which you can then easily take onto the dancefloor without stress to leader or follower. I spent the week at his workshops in 2009, and again in 2010, and hope he comes back in 2011.

I had a fantastic Sunday in Sydney. The 3 workshops with Anibal Montenegro were an eye opener. This guy is the best visiting teacher I have ever studied with and I was able to incorporate all he taught, and more importantly understood the dynamics of the concepts he taught.

Anibal Montenegro, who many of you met last year is returning for an Australia wide tour in May and June of this year. You can catch him in Sydney from May 7-20. Anibal has worked with prestigious dance schools in Buenos Aires such as: Estudio La Esquina, Escuela Argentina de Tango, Tango Brujo as well as Tango Seminars conducted by Luciana Valle. For the last 3 years he has toured in Asia. He has a strong grounding in traditional tango which he combines with nuevo elements.

Due to popular demand we will be running the
Tango Intensive again this year. It provides an opportunity to learn in a real workshop environment with a limited number of participants. This format will allow students to work as an ensemble, consistantly with the teacher, and give Anibal the opportunity to become familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the group. The Intensive is only open to intermediate/advanced dancers and there will be an emphasis
on improving posture, musicality and quality of movement.

Remember the Intensive can only be booked as a couple and places are strictly limited so start looking for a partner now. The intensive will take place on Tues 11 & 18 Wed 12 & 19th of May.
